American Sheep Industry Association (ASI)  ASI is the national organization representing the interests of the 64,000 sheep producers located throughout the United States. From East to West, farm flocks to range operations, ASI works to represent the interests of all producers.  ASI is a federation of 40+ state sheep associations as well as individual members. All ASI officers, board of director members and council and committee members serve as volunteers – without pay.  www.sheepusa.org

  The American Lamb Board is the national organization that is dedicated to expanding the markets for American Lamb.  This site contains a plethora of information about lamb, lamb recipes and nutritional information.  The Lamb Board utilizes the funds raised by the Lamb Check-off payments to accomplish its mission and has no other sources of income.  www.americanlambboard.org

Pasture management, feeds and forages are covered by several publications, while others address care and management for specific animals and marketing of the products derived from them. Connecticut Sheep Breeders Association  - The Connecticut Sheep Breeders Association was founded in May of 1893 to promote and encourage sheep raising, to promote the improvement of the quality of the sheep raised and to aid in securing legislation that is in the best interest of the sheep breeders of Connecticut. Wool Processing

Green Mountain Spinnery - Just off of I-91 at Exit 4 in Putney Vermont, Green Mountain requires a minimum of 100 pounds of wool for processing.  Major advantage is their organic scouring process.

Finger Lakes Woolen Mill  Finger Lakes is located just North of Ithaca, NY at 1193 Stewart’s Corners Road in Genoa, NY  (315) 497-1542.  They are a full service mill and have a very low minimum (8 pounds?)
